A refastenable absorbent with a longitudinal axis article comprising a front portion has been patented. The front portion contains a central section with first and second side edges and lateral sections, which are adjacent to one of the first and second side edges. The first and second lateral sections are releasably attached to the central section and have an outer edge. The front portion has a first and a second end. A crotch portion connects the front to the back portion and has a first and second side edge, which have an end point adjacent to the back portion. The end points are located with a line drawn parallel to the longitudinal axis at a maximum distance transversely from the longitudinal axis and passes twice through the crotch portions’ first and second side edges. The back portion is divided into a first and second section. The first section is bounded by a first end, a line drawn parallel to the first end and a first and second side edge. The second section is bounded by the line drawn parallel to the first and second ends and edges to the first end and intersects a pair of corners where the first section’s first and second side edges intersect with the second section’s first and second edges. The second end is parallel to the first end and intersects the end points where the first and second side edges of the crotch portion intersect with the first and second edges of the second section. The first section has a length, L2, measured perpendicularly from the first end to the line drawn parallel and the second section has a length, L3, measured perpendicularly from the line drawn parallel to the first to the second end. An absorbent is secured to one of the front, back or crotch portions. The outer edges of the first and second lateral sections are secured to one of the back portion’s first and second side edges to form a pant-like article with a waist opening and a pair of leg openings.
